People describe summer as this relaxing time of the year when all slows down, everyone takes things at an easier pace and even some have time to read a couple of extra-books …
This is not always true for many moms (stay-home or working moms)!
During summer she continues with her “permanent” struggle for balance, juggling the activities of the season which just create a different pace, but are not necessarily slower or simpler – as always – she is ensuring that all what happens around her and because of her, falls in its right place – she is my hero!
Working moms experience the “beauty of summer” through the juggle of the resultant modified schedules that come with the season: Kids off school, the summer camps, family vacation/trips, deliverables, demands and commitments at work (those never truly slow down in a significant way) …
I talked to a few working moms this summer and though they managed to: schedule family vacation/time off, comply with work commitments, sign up kids in a couple of summer camps and/or organize increased number of play dates and activities, given the shifted schedules – in certain instances – it took more coordination work than at other seasons of the year.
Here is what I admire: All of them managed to create additional beautiful-memorable moments for their families, were able to increase the number of learning opportunities and fun activities for their children and ensured that all went smoothly at work.
These amazing women - consistently - think about their family and loved ones first, while delivering on their commitments at work, taking one day at a time, one schedule at a time, with a smile and focused on choosing what is best for them as individuals and for their families.
They know that the “back to school” stage is just the next step returning to the “other” juggle they already know and in which they just keep trying every day, relentlessly, to move forward making good choices.
This type of working mom is my hero!
